Linux 现在对设备编号的动态分配提供广泛的支持,并且可以使用 sysfs
和 udev

串口¶
串口是 RS-232 串口以及任何模拟串口的设备,无论是在硬件中(如内置调制解调器)还是在软件中(如 ISDN 驱动程序)。在 Linux 下,每个串口都有两个设备名称,主叫设备和备叫设备。每种设备都用不同的字母表示。对于任何字母 X,设备的名称分别为 /dev/ttyX#

备用设备提供基于内核的排除以及与主设备略有不同的默认值。它们的主要目的是允许在对串口没有固有或损坏支持的程序中使用串口。它们的使用已被弃用,并且可能会在 Linux 的未来版本中删除。
串口的仲裁是通过使用名为 /var/lock/LCK..ttyX#
的锁文件来实现的。锁文件的内容应为锁定进程的 PID,以 ASCII 数字表示。
通常的做法是安装指向串口的链接,例如 /dev/modem。为了确保在存在这些链接的情况下进行适当的锁定,建议软件追逐符号链接并锁定所有可能的名称;此外,建议使用相应的备用设备安装锁文件。为了避免死锁,建议按以下顺序获取锁,并按相反的顺序释放锁

在嵌套符号链接的情况下,应按照解析符号链接的顺序安装锁文件。
在任何情况下,应用程序都不应在等待另一个锁被释放时持有锁。此外,尝试为相应的备用设备名称创建锁文件的应用程序应考虑到可能在非串口 TTY 上使用的情况,在这种情况下,将不存在备用设备。
伪终端 (PTY)¶
伪终端或 PTY 用于创建登录会话或为需要 TTY 线路规程(包括 SLIP 或 PPP 功能)的任意数据生成过程提供其他功能。每个 PTY 都有一个主端,命名为 /dev/pty[p-za-e][0-9a-f]
,和一个从端,命名为 /dev/tty[p-za-e][0-9a-f]
。内核通过只允许每个主端打开一次来仲裁 PTY 的使用。
一旦打开主端,就可以像使用任何 TTY 设备一样使用相应的从设备。主设备和从设备由内核连接,生成具有 TTY 功能的等效双向管道。
最近版本的 Linux 内核和 GNU libc 包含对 PTY 的 System V/Unix98 命名方案的支持,该方案为所有主端分配一个通用设备 /dev/ptmx
(打开它将自动为您提供先前未分配的 PTY)和一个子目录 /dev/pts
用于从端;从端用十进制整数命名(在我们的表示法中为 /dev/pts/#
)。这消除了耗尽命名空间的问题,并使内核能够使用“devpts”文件系统按需自动创建从设备的设备节点。
